Cross-border harmonisation is one of the important activity  delivering a coherent content in pan-European data and web-services. Article 10.2 of the INSPIRE Directive stipulates the requirements for EU Member States in harmonising the content of geospatial data across international boundaries.

For your information, the document “Guidance on implementation of cross-border harmonisation” has been drafted in collaboration with SBE KEN experts in the Open ELS project. The document guides on process, recommended actions and requirements defining and maintaining the Connecting Features (CFs) between neighbouring countries. It is expected that NMCAs will define the CFs following the guidelines. The agreed CFs would allow to edge-match national spatial data along borders in automatic or semi-automatic way.

The specific webinar introducing the guidance to NMCAs and how to contribute, is organised at 12:00, 10th December 2018. Webinar duration – 1 hour.
