Policy Knowledge Exchange Network Meeting

A face to face POLKEN meeting was held on 11th February in the premises of the EuroGeographics Head Office, chaired by Mick Cory SG&GD and attended by 16 participants from 16 members organisations.

The High Value Datasets (HVD) Impact assesment study, compelled by the Open Data PSI Directive, was the key topic of the first part of this meeting which was livestream via webinar. Timeline and planning of the activities were presented by the contractor conducting the study on behalf of the DG CNNECT of the European Commission, as lead. All along the study, the core team will remain at entire disposal for any question. In the afternoon session there was a briefing on UN GGIM matters and comprehensive preview of the new EU Commission and Parliament, especially the key Directorates and Committees where NMCAs and EuroGeographics can make a constructive contribution. The conclusion of the discussion is that PolKEN will move forward strengthening representation activities and will support EGHO representation team in undertaking its representation role.
