The Geodetic Society of Herceg-Bosna marked 25 years of work

The Geodetic Society of Herceg-Bosna marked 25 years of work at a special ceremony held in Mostar on September 24, 2021. The ceremony was originally planned for the spring of Year 2020, but was postponed due to the Corona virus pandemic.
Ms. Sanja Zekušić, a member of the Management Board, attended the meeting as a representative of Eurogeographics. President of CLGE (European Council of Surveyors) Mr. Vladimir Krupa, due to inability to participate, sent a message of support. Presidents of geodetic associations from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia enlarged the gathering with their presence as well as distinguished guests from scientific, social and political life.
The Society was founded on April 19, 1995, and in the past 25 years has achieved results, which we could not even imagine at the beginning. Annual assemblies are held regularly, every year, since 2000, the newsletter of the Society “Yearbook” has been published continuously since 2001. Since the establishment, 15 study trips have been organized. Through scholarship projects, the Society has helped students of geodesy and geoinformatics in the amount of more than 75,000 euros. Four Congresses on Cadastre in BiH were organized with the participation of more than 1,200 participants from the country and abroad. The Society is a member of FIG and an associate member of CLGE . We cooperate with related organizations in the Country and abroad. All activities and results of the Society’s work are presented in words and pictures in the Monograph printed for the anniversary. This Monograph was presented in the first part of the ceremony. The monograph was presented by Mr. Ivan Lesko, President of the Society, Mr. Željko Obradović, Director of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs and prof. dr. Željko Bačić, professor at the Faculty of Geodesy in Zagreb.
In the continuation of the ceremony, Mr. Ivan Lesko, the President of the Society awarded recognitions to deserving individuals and associations that have indebted the Society in the past 25 years and thus helped the Society to achieve outstanding results with which it is rightly proud.
